This is the first P&B story I wrote, the first part of an intended trilogy of longer stories, and was my first opportunity to see if I liked these characters. A lot of it is based around a bizarre interest I held in the local history of certain parts of north London, kind of super imposed onto a lot of the fiction I was reading at the time.
I'm kind of half pleased with a lot of it, not so much with others. I may re-mix all this earlier stuff, so to speak, at some point in the future...
